The initial concept and subsequent goal of this project revolved around crafting a collection of tracks exclusively composed and assembled through the manipulation of pre-recorded audio samples from my 2020 field recording library. The use of hardware or software synthesizers for sonic design was intentionally ruled out and deemed "not allowed."

On the album, half of the tracks were meticulously crafted using Audacity and its internal tools, functioning both as an advanced audio editor and a mixing console. The remaining tracks were created within the DAW of choice, Ableton Live 10 Suite. All audio samples underwent a process of molding, shaping, manipulation, and modulation solely utilizing Audacity's internal effects and tools. However, a handful of third-party effects were incorporated for the tracks assembled in the DAW.

The project drew influences and inspiration from diverse sources such as Gyorgy Ligeti's Requiem, Francois Bayle's "Divine Comédie - Purgatoire," Iannis Xenakis' 'Persepolis,' and perhaps a touch of Kraftwerk's "TEE."
